It is possible to have a great Halloween party without liquor, so I’ve compiled 10 Best Non-Alcoholic Halloween Drink Ideas that will keep you in the spooky holiday spirit, with no hangover the next day!
Halloween Parties For Recovering Addicts
Halloween is one of my favorite pastimes for partying, and definitely brings up memories of drinking alcohol. Since I’ve been sober (2016) I haven’t been to a Halloween party at all.
This year though, I’m attending a friend’s costume party, and I intend to have a great time.
To add to the fun, a few of us agreed to mix up a few of the best Halloween mocktails (non-alcoholic cocktails) that are pleasing to the eyes, and to the tastebuds. Here are my ideas…
1. Caramel Apple Mocktail
Who doesn’t love a caramel apple, especially around Halloween? The recipe for this Caramel Apple Mocktail is easy, with only three ingredients:
- 4 oz. Ginger Beer
- 4 oz. Apple Cider
- 2 oz. Caramel Sauce
Use a wine glass and dip the rim in caramel sauce. Then, add 2 oz. of caramel sauce to the glass. Next, add the cold apple cider followed by the sparkling ginger beer. Stir and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
By the way, Ginger Beer is not alcoholic, it’s more like a very strong ginger ale.
This Caramel Apple Mocktail from Savor The Flavour is perfect for a Halloween party or an after-dinner treat at Thanksgiving.
2. Bubbling Cauldron Punch
Here’s an easy non-alcoholic drink idea that is absolutely perfect for a Halloween party, no matter how old the guests are!
It may look a bit gross but the taste of this Bubbling Cauldron Punch from Food Network is totally refreshing and yummy.
- 3/4 cup Frozen Limeade (1/2 of 12 oz. can)
- 3 1/2 cups of Cold Water
- 3 cans (12 oz.) of Ginger Beer, chilled
- 1 pint of Green Tea Ice Cream
When you’re ready to serve, mix together the Limeade, Cold Water, and one can of the Ginger Beer. Then, scoop in the ice cream. Add the remaining two cans of Ginger Beer to create the foam and “voila!” – your Halloween party drink will be the talk of the evening.
3. Creepy Shirley Temples
Add some pizazz to your Halloween party drinks with these Creepy Shirley Temples, courtesy of Boulder Locovore.
The best part is, these are super simple to make!
- 1 can of Ginger Ale
- Splash of Grenadine for color
- 3 Maraschino Cherries
Simply pour the Ginger Ale into the glass and add a few maraschino cherries.
To get the “spooky” vibe for your Shirley Temples, add a plastic syringe with a small amount of grenadine to the glass. Your guest will just push the plunger for color!
4. Moonrise Mocktails
If you’re a fan of a tequila sunrise, you’ll love these non-alcoholic Moonrise Mocktails from TESCO Real Foods.
- 3/4 cups of Orange Juice
- 2 tbsp of Grenadine
- Splash of Green Food Coloring
- Gummy Snakes
Another easy non-alcoholic Halloween drink idea, the Moonrise Mocktail takes only a few seconds to make.
Mix a couple of drops of green food coloring with the orange juice in a highball glass filled with ice. Then, drip the Grenadine down the inside of the glass so that it sinks to the bottom, creating the “blood” look.
Add your gummy snakes and licorice ropes for a creepy, crawly, tasty beverage for all ages.
5. Non-Alcoholic Halloween Punch
Kids and adults alike will be impressed with this recipe for a non-alcoholic Halloween Punch from Sugar and Charm.
Even better, it’s rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, so you can feel good about serving this at any Halloween party or get-together.
- Pineapple Juice
- Sweet Cranberry Juice
- Ginger Ale
- Unsweetened Pomegranate Juice
- Sparkling Apple Cider
- Gummy Worms
In a large punch bowl or cauldron, pour in all of the ingredients and add ice. Then, for the perfect Halloween effect, add gummy worms to creep people out.
Enjoying Non-Alcoholic Halloween Drink Recipes
If you’re in early recovery, it’s totally okay to skip any and all Halloween parties that will be serving alcohol. In fact, it’s usually better to find other things to do with your sober network.
If Halloween is a time that you would drink or use drugs, this can be a very triggering time of year for anyone in recovery.
Check with your local AA and NA meetings for events that they’re putting on. Then, use one of these cool non-alcoholic Halloween drink recipe ideas to show off your talent (no one has to know how easy they are to make!).
Have a Happy & Safe Halloween!
